1 killed, 10 injured in Niger road crash

A woman was killed while 10 other persons sustained injuries in a road crash on the Minna-Suleja road around 1pm on Sunday.

The Niger State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kumar Tsukwam, who confirmed the incident, said the accident involved two commercial vehicles which had a head on collision.

He explained that one of the vehicles, a Toyota Carina E with registration number, ABC-44-DX, took off from Zaria, Kaduna State, to Minna while the other vehicle, a Pontiac Vibe with registration number, AA-211-SDA, took off from Minna to Suleja, noting that three men, women and a girl were involved in the accident.

He further said the injured victims had been taken to the IBB Specialist Hospital, Minna, while the remains of the woman had been deposited at the mortuary of the same hospital.
