1 killed, 10 injured in Lagos-Ibadan road crash

A hawker was yesterday killed and 10 others injured in a road accident on Kara Bridge on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State.

Our correspondent gathered that the vehicles involved in the accident are a Mack truck with registration number, T 6337 LA, a commercial Toyota bus and five other vehicles.

The spokesman of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi, told newsmen that investigation revealed that the driver of the truck was responsible for the crash.

Akinbiyi said the driver fell asleep on the wheel thereby causing the container-laden truck to ram into other vehicles from behind.

Akinbiyi said the corpse of the hawker had been taken to the morgue by the family while the injured victims were taken to a hospital by men of the FRSC.
