Commercial activities were grounded as shops were hurriedly locked up in fear of reprisal attacks by the rival gangsters in the area.

It was gathered that some members of a gang had earlier launched an attack on their rival gang at Namu Junction on Friday evening but were repelled by local vigilantes, a development that led to the Saturday attack.

When contacted the spokesperson of the Plateau State Police Command, DSP Alabo Alfred, confirmed the incident.

The PPRO said, “Two persons who were found lying on the ground at the scene of the incident were taken to the hospital. One later died while the other one is in critical condition. It is a fight between two youth groups.”
