A witness said the explosion was caused by a gas cylinder belonging to one of the occupants of the tricycle.
Daily Trust gathered that the tricycle was carrying three occupants and that its rider parked by the roadside when the owner of the cylinder discovered that gas was leaking from the cylinder.
The witness further said, “Unfortunately, there was a car with a radiator problem parked nearby. The heat generated by the car triggered the explosion.”
The spokesman of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the accident, saying the tricycle, three motorcycles and a car were burnt.
Akinbiyi, however, disclosed that he could not ascertain if anyone died in the explosion.
