A middle-aged man has been arrested for allegedly producing adulterated sachet water in Lagos.
The suspect, whose clandestine factory is located inside the Oluwole market in Apapa, was arrested by detectives from the state police command.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest, saying that the production site has been sealed.
Hundeyin said the site was raided following an intelligence report received from some members of the public on the activities of the suspect.
He said upon receipt of the report, a team of policemen from Apapa police station was deployed to investigate the allegations.
“Upon arrival at the production site, it was observed that he had forged the NAFDAC number and the brand name of another sachet water producer.
“One suspect has been arrested and the place is currently under lock and key while investigation is ongoing. At the end of the investigation, the suspect will be handed over to relevant government agency for prosecution,” he added.
