0ver 100,000 benefit as Fidelity food pack train hits Kwara

Over one hundred thousand vulnerable households and underprivileged families across the country have so far benefitted from food packs distribution from Fidelity Bank.

Executive Technical Assistant to the Managing Director/CEO of the bank, Mr Adebayo Adeyinka, disclosed this during the weekend in Ilọrin, the Kwara State capital.

The gesture, which was in collaboration with the Office of the State First Lady, Prof Olufolake AbdulRazaq, was part of the bank’s social responsibility.

Over 3,000 benefitted from the gesture.

According to Adebayo, “We have visited more than ten states where we think there are challenges of food insecurity to support the government’s efforts.

“It was a vision conceived by the MD/CEO, Dr Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe and we have distributed over a hundred thousand packs since we started.

“The message is whether you are an individual or a corporate body, do whatever you can to reach out to the less privileged in their society especially during this economic situation”, he added.

On her part, the Regional Bank Head, South West 2 (Kwara,Osun and Ekiti), Mr Morenike Olabisi said through the initiative, the bank is also helping to meet the Sustainable Development Goal 2 which is zero hunger.

“We created this platform to contribute our quota to the reduction of hunger, poverty, malnutrition and infant/maternal mortality and beneficiariea cut across the six geo-political zones in the country”, she added.
